I could not put it down! Psychological suspense thriller at its finest! Totally a good follow up to “The Girl on the Train”.
We are introduced to Julia a woman that is happily married, caring for her sister’s child, Connor, and living a nice life in the suburbs of London. Kate, the sister, was too young to take on the responsibilities herself and felt that this was the best option for him to have a chance for success. Years pass and this modern day family is able to function and live a decent life until Julia receives a phone call that Kate has been found murdered in an alley way of Paris. How is this possible she wonders? Her sister was on the road to turning her life around. With the help of Kate’s flat mate, Anna, Julia signs on to a dating website that Kate had been using up until her death.
Think I have given you the whole plot line? FAR FROM IT! This all happens in the first couple of pages. There are plenty of twists and turns still for the reader to unravel. I also love how this book is placed internationally it makes it all that much uncertain for me because I am not familiar with any of the logistics of crime or society there.
The only hint I can give is that the MTV show Catfish is more than just a trend it is happening everywhere and to anyone.
This is right up my alley of books and from what I said above – I hope you find it just as much of a page turner! Nothing like 2016 starting off with a bang!
